Hark at the thick cunts riding the waves. Hark get out of the way. They think I'm dumb so they'll find me a place. Thanks but, the answer's no. Thanks but, the answer's no all the same.
2.
I saw the secret handshake. I deciphered the cryptic code. I was there when they built the earthquake. When the goalkeeper saved my soul. The KKK laced poison in your steak and the lost boys spilt your milk. The little green men and Mr Benn are spreading evil of a different ilk. They saw you coming through x-ray eyes. You've been sold. You've been sold the skin of the big bad wolf. I saw who sailed the icebergs into the streams of a million towns. I was there when they fed you propane and turned the swastikas upside down. It wasn't me it was the one-armed man who took the blueprints and the masterplan. It wasn't me it was the men in black. It wasn't me it was the one-armed man. It was the one-armed man. I've got the t-shirt. I've got the pen. I've got the DVD.

The parlour was inviting. It was radiant. It was quaint. How they'd laugh and they'd joke and they'd dance and they'd gloat to the soundtrack of distaste. The trophy was a vampire. Dead but, dressed up to the nines. The practiced vivacity seemed satisfactory if obvious in design. But, you're better than everyone. You're better than everyone else. Don't forget about me when you're famous. When you're famous and you make your way through the streets paved with gold will you take us? Will you save us? I'm your biggest fan. The trophy was a vampire. He was hanging upside down. Man they closed him down quick as they clawed and they licked at the bloodstains on the crown. The bad step was enchanting and your crosshairs were divine. With silver and hope I could love you the most said the spider to the fly. But, you're not fooling anyone. Like moths to a flame. Like flies around filth. Click. I bet you say that to all of the boys. Click.

There's a place you can go if you can't write songs. You can take along your demos and they'll tell you why they're wrong. It's a kick on the one. Hat and snare on the three. Take the bass for a walk in the relative keys of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll workshops. There's a place you can go if you can't find love. You can take along your demos and they'll tell you why they're duds. It's a kick on the one. Hat and snare on the three. Take the bass for a walk in the relative keys of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll workshops. Sing about love 'til the cows come home to put the world to rights. Save your breath leave your wings in the bedroom. No one here dies a legend tonight.

Daddy's gonna buy me a pitchfork. Mummy's gonna buy me a gun. We've got free tickets to the witch hunt. Where I'll learn how to get things done. You don't need books when you've got guts. There's no such thing as innocence. For the snakes in the grass there is ink in our guns. From the fable to the page. To the tips of our tongues. Anyone's blood will do. Daddy's gonna show me the monsters. Mummy's gonna show me the creeps. Jimmy's gonna show me how to fix it. Set fire to their dungeons while they sleep.

I never go home when I should. If I could then I would but, I don't so fuck it. I never go home when I should if would then maybe I could pay my way. One more. One more. One more. One more for the lonely road.

Well, one has a mouthpiece the other operates the guns. I've ascertained that they don't like the cut of my jib one bit. He says I coulda had class like Marlon Brando. Cut my teeth with the valley commandos. Looking at my face. Are you coming for me? O' my lord. Who me? How so? Now, lucky number Slevin's chewing a remember me. He don't look so cool rockin' his Bambi pants fad dance. He says you're going home in the back of an ambulance. Jesus, Mary and Joseph Talbot. Looking at my face. Are you coming for me? O' my lord. Who me? How so? I'm not agitated. I'm fine I'm not agitated. Do I look like I'm agitated? Can't you see in my face I'm not agitated?

I start things that I never finish. I buy books that I never read. I swore I'd turn the world into a firework but, I was lying through my teeth. If only I lived automatically. I sat and watched my will diminish. My aspiration is out at sea. My bones have turned to rust as they've gathered dust. My eyes are open but, I'm asleep. I'm just waiting. I'm just hibernating. I'm the great procrastinator. All hope is closed for business. Now in a minute. I sold my soul to the highest bidder. For a house on the haunted hill. I don't need God to save me but, it'd be nice if he paid my bills.

Another day. Again I'm a mess. I must be wicked. They never let me rest. Though I play the game I keep my cards by my chest. They broke the camel's back I'll head to the press but, first. I want a Merc and a passport. Eight beers and a smoke. I want to speak to the news crew. I want a michelin dish and a ticket to Rio. I want a Merc and a passport. Eight beers and a smoke. I want to speak to the news crew. To tell them the truth and let the whole world know. The revolution is a hoax. Hey, don't try to be brave. Don't be a hero and I swear you'll be okay but, I won't let you go 'til my needs are met. You'll know my reasons once I speak to the press but, first. The revolution is a hoax. Nouveau trenches and faux rebel ghosts.
10.
I'm up to brave the day. I'm ready for my close up and a sedative. I think it's safe to say we've come too far to focus on the positives. It might look better if we set the hoop on fire. Maybe better if we lose the safety net. It might look better if we slowly cut the wire for added value when we auction off your sweat. I guess it's just the price you pay for painting pictures in the rain.

Make a wish and smile whilst you spoon feed the rich. Though the wheat is the chaff. You're good to go. You've got the green light to gasp at the army of hopeless that don't get the joke. Tired but, pleased to wade through the muck just to sift through the shit. Well done. The children of the elephant man. Throw some lime on the pigs and watch the piglets drown. Sell their hides on the cobbles of the market towns. If you're counting on me then you can count me out. If the only way is Essex you can kill me now. This is all I've ever wanted. This is all I've dreamed of my whole life but, I haven't done anything to get it.
